Re: Popping and banging on the over run.
I feel your pain brother.
This is some consolation surely,

Trouble is... it's so loud... I have to wear ear plugs everywhere
If it wasn't for the safety factor of having a loud pipe... I'd probably be better off with the stock zorst lol. (Except for the weight of it) |

Re: Popping and banging on the over run.
Get yourself a K3, they pop and bang like crazy rolling off the throttle and on a closed throttle. Every K3 i have had does it with an aftermarket exhaust. It's brilliant!

Re: Popping and banging on the over run.
I remember doing an airbox removal and sock filters on Coolgirls K3 and a race can. Popped, banged, ignited following users through the Blackwall tunnel like you couldnt believe. Most excellent.

Re: Popping and banging on the over run.
My SV sounds epic with a cheap Scorpion stainless oval end can. Love going through tunnels with it ;o)

With my standard can i never noticed it. I fitted a beowulf can and suddenly had this lovely popping and burbling on overrun and changes down.
Fitted a k&n filter last night and that noise is all but gone now maybe more fuel efficient now (burning all fuel) and only pops under extreme situations. Sad but a bit more go to it (very minor) since the k&n. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2 |

Re: Popping and banging on the over run.
I recently bought an 01 naked model with full Leo Vince system on it.
Sounds great and pops and bangs mainly on the over run. Was worried it was running lean as initial throttle response is also very sharp and thought I'd need to increase the fuelling, but after reading this would people advise that this probably isn't the case? Loving the bike and want to make sure nothing gets damaged from running too hot. Thanks |

Re: Popping and banging on the over run.
Popping and banging in the exhaust can be caused by airleaks in the joints. Worth a check.

Re: Popping and banging on the over run.
I have a K3 fitted with a Titanium stubby Delkevik, no leaks, that pops n bangs like a good 'un on the overrun.. If it was solvable I probably wouldn't bother
