Talking Hi.

Hi fellow SV'ers, Recently found and joined this forum after buying my first Suzuki - a 2001 SV650S with only 8420 miles on her. I've been riding since I was 16 (46 years), although not continuously, and have built several of my bikes.

I'm enjoying the SV, although it is not the most comfortable bike I've ever had (too much weight on my wrists). Any help given here by you guys will be appreciated.

Hey and welcome, I've seen a couple of lads use some raised clip ons, you can get them on eBay they have a 3 inch rise over the standard bar, this would make you sit up more and take some of the weight of your wrists, or you could get the top yolk with that takes the like of renthal bars and stuff only think there would be you would have to do away with all the fairing and stuff and change it for a headlight.

I'm assuming yours is the fairer version

Hi and welcome

Our very own admin fitted risers recently, albeit to his VFR - http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=212692&page=87

I'm sure there is plenty of info on the forum about doing it to the SV

Good luck

Hi guys, thanks for the welcome. Core strength - yes, I remember having some of that about 20 years ago...

I like the sound of risers! Can I still use standard cables and wiring? 2" would be great.

Wiring you can, but easier to use the naked bikes clutch and throttle cables.

I've got Gilles Variobars on mine, keeps the clip on look, but way more comfortable than stock clip ons.

Curvy is harder to convert as there's less fairing clearance, that the Pointy has. Its an MOT failure if your controls foul the fairing or tank
