Am I getting addicted to buying?

The other weekend I bought socket set from Halfords,

£60 Halfords Pro set

I recently also bought:

An impact Driver
A decent trolley jack
Axle stands (yes those two are mainly for the car but have already come in useful for the bike)
A drill
stud extractor set
Allen Key set (Halfords pro again)
And I'm sure there is something else but I can't think of it


I need a toolbox for it now, and all that is on top of all the cash I've been spending on the bike (I need to start selling body parts soon)

Them stud extractor sets are worth every penny, saved a lot of time work & money when one of the exhaust studs seized on my sons bandit.

Na, thats sensible buying IMO (as long as you know what to do with it all!)

When I get round to it i'll buy myself a good toolkit from halfords and some other bits too, and pinch some of my dads snap-on tools that he dosnt use I'd probably buy more stuff like what you have done, but since my old man is a mechanic I can get away with "borrowing" stuff (or just letting him do it all for me, heaven forbid i should dirty his tools )

First on my list though is a paddock stand and some chain lube...

[EDIT] you also need an extendable magnetic pole/rod thing, just incase something falls out of reach of your hands...

Get a halfords pro box, i've got one. Its a bit more prone to dents and scratches than I had hoped. But it does put a smile on my face when I need to get at my tools, and they are all in the right place!


Oh...Tip, if your buying tools Dont go on ebay and look for used snap on ones....because its an addicition....

Sudoxe - I'm thinking of getting the Halfords box, the bed doofa init?? How much are they though? I though about £200, if so then it's got to wait, I've pumped LOADS of money into this biking thing in the past month, with bits ofr the bike and tools and new gear (woo hoo, new lid and textile pants and jacket)

Get a clarkes one from Machine mart. Get the 9 drawer with roller cab. Job done. Cheaper, and imho better quality than the Halfords stuff.
