Default How often do you top up air pressure?

Since my 18 month lay off I have found the rear is needing a top up about every 2 weeks.

The strange thing is I don't notice anything and pretty much on the 2 week mark I'll get on and the handling just sucks til I pump her up.

I don't remember having to top up so often before, just wondered how often you guys are having to top up pressures?

As the rubber ages it losses it's ability to hold back the gasses. If you stood your bike up over time and allow the tyre to sit with waight on them it also deforlfoms the tyre. This will affect the efficiency of the bead seat.
Condensation inside the tyre can also cause corrosion on the bead seat on alloys.
Remember powder even if you are lapse and only do Petrol, Oil Water, Damage , Electrics, Rubber.
You won't get half the grief less switched on reader encounter.

I check weekly, normally need to put 1 or 2 psi in every two to four weeks

Every week or two when I get a chance to use the old mans compressor! Along with chain, fluids, condition of tiers, bulbs, steering etc. Only takes 15 odd mins and will save you a lot of trouble if you keep on top of it!

Tyres on for 2000 miles and checked weekly, but no need to top up yet. I don't have a routine to check brakes, tyres, chain etc, just gets done all the time, any excuse to spend 1/2 hour in the garage finding stuff to do on the bike. probably gets checked over on a weekly basis as i clean all the wee nooks and crannies from the weekend ride.

You do loose about 1 psi every time you check it.
My M 5s are checked using the bikes TPMS and have been good for 2 months lost 1 psi.
