utter bollo**s that. They dont have to keep it. every one i know with a restrictor has got the original ECU back as well.

They have no legal responsability to ensure tou keep it it.

Dont take it to them!! They are saying it so they can charge you an hours work for changing it back later. as you would have to go to them to get it done.

Go somewhere else there are plenty of places around that will give you the 70BHP ECU back.

They sound dodgy to me, would not get the bike serviced there either if they play scams like that, who knows what they will charge you extra for come service time.

Any how what happenrd if they went bust in the meantime?? you would be stuck with out any chance of getting your ECU back.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

Appleyards Leeds have told me they will give me my original when I have a restrictor kit fitted to my new SV650.

The dealer could go belly up within 2 years and then what?

Thats aload of poop,, its down to the owner of the bike, not the bike shops thats a part of your bike, i'd go get it and tell them the .org will come and get him if he doesn't give it back. . They gave me mine and just told me the implications of putting the full power ECU back in,,fines, crushing of bike etc. Whats it to them if you put it back in, none of their business!!

Perhaps you could speak to Trading Standards about this. You purchased the bike and the kit and surely they both belong to you.

If you know your rights you have some ammunition when you go to the shop. Don't just call them. Go in person with someone else - be polite and tell them the score.

As a matter of interest what's the dealers name?

There is an other authorised dealer in swindon , and a one in Cirencester.

Go on the suzuki website and do a dealer search, for them.

they cant keep the ecu from you, its theft, u've paid for it!!!!
the TRE has nothing to do with it, your bike is restricted by changing the ECU(little black box with loads of wires going into it that lives under the front seat) i had to have mine restricted when i got it, didnt stay in long tho, it was F**king dangerous!!!!!!
what dealer is it?
