Brighter Headlight Installation...
Hey,
I have been reading on other forums about brighter headlights. It will improve my view and how people see me, which is a plus. A common suggestion is the Philips H4 Vision Plus bulb. They are $40.00 CAD (~£17.00 GBP). They are 55/60W bulbs, which is the same as my SV, correct? I am worried about the installation, anyone ever upgrade their headlights before? How difficult is it? I am not sure what needs to take place to get the headlamp down to this stage... Thanks for all your help. Mitch

I think the original bulbs are 45/50w though I stand to be corrected. HAving said that I changed the lamps on my SY in about the first few weeks. There are rumours that you can brown the plastic lens on the SV if you uprate the lamps, though after 4 years I have not noticed any change.
To be honest, it is probably only worth doing is you do a LOT of nightime riding, otherwise you won't notice much difference |

An excellent upgrade. Those Philips bulbs do make a difference - not an order of magnitude just better sharper lighting.

I am still most concerned on the installation... Sounds like a good mod for not alot of money. Do you think it makes you more noticeable? I was just assuming... Mitch

Fizz, have you thought about tyring them in your bike, assuming that the car uses H4 bulbs that is? |
