Default "surprise" flyover by Lancaster

We have just had (Cleethorpes) a couple of low level (maybe 500 ft) flyovers by the Lancaster - there aren't any scheduled events hence the "surprise". I haven't seen it fly so low before (unless it was landing/taking off).

Maybe an engine test, we're not far from Coningsby.

Nice. I was looking forward to seeing the BOBMF Lancaster in Wycombe a few years ago, as it was due to fly over as part of the RAF exercising their right to march through the town. Got talking to one of the RAF photographers there (her taxpayer-funded MoD Canon lenses were much better than mine) who said that engine trouble meant it was stranded in France after taking part in recent D-Day celebrations, so the Hurricane came over instead. MUCH more difficult to focus on a dinky fast moving fighter i can tell you, but a nice sight.

As we're so close to RAF command we often get things like the Dakota flying over, but not the Lancaster unfortunately. I'll keep watching the skies
