Thumbs up Another noobie!!

Just a quick post to say hello to all the sv lovers on here. I have just bought an svs 2000 curvy that has no MOT and needs a little love. Hopefully it won't take me long to sort out, failure sheet from seller listed both tyres (had race stickies on it!!), rear brake pads and sticking front caliper.

Have not been able to start work on it yet as weather bad. Been persisting it down since i bought it and don't have the luxury of a garage or workshop.

Anyone on here knows the best/cheapest place to get my tryes done in Nottingham? I would appreciate the advice. Cheapest quote so far is £160 on loose or £190 if i take the bike in. Lack of centre/paddock stands is a big problem!! (£30 of big problem to be precise!!! lol)

I have another bike i use for work, a Suzuki GN250. Very bouncy, quite slow, but mpg and fat comfy seat and riding position make it a good commuter. The SV is to be my toy/fair weather commuter (or at least thats the plan!!)
Suspect I will not want to ride the gn anymore once the sv is on the road.

My apologies for starting this "just a quick post". I have a tandency to ramble on. Lokking forward to getting to know the other members of this great forum.

All the best, Wee-Man (Mark, 5 foot 4 and 3 quarters, Nottingham)

I think you're right, Hovis. Baph mentioned his name over the weekend and I'm fairly certain he said Nottingham too. Someone will be along soon to confirm it.

That he is, and that I did. He did the 12k service on my bike.

Top bloke. Have a search on the forum for "Spanner Man" and see all the recommendations of people here.

His website (which has his address etc) is here. If you decide to take it to him, let him know we forwarded you, and for being a member of this site you get a discount. Let him know I said hi too.

Sounds like you got a top recommendation there If that doesn't work out then I used to use these folks (Twistgrip in Radford) when I lived in Nottingham (this was ten years ago though, things may have changed just a tad!)

Oh, and welcome
