noise coming from bike is it normal ? - SV650.org

Ok dont know if this is normal and i just havent heard it before
when im riding along at say 25-30mph i can here a noise it not loud because i cant here it over say 35-40mph.

when i let the revs off it stops and when i put them on it sounds like a rrrisssss noise it kind of sounds like that noise your bikes makes when you put electrics on when you turn the key on.

it is proberly nothing but just wondered if anyone knows ?

Yeah I wouldnt worry about it. If you are just put ear pugs in...it'll go away then

Rear can chain adjuster is probably gunked up with oil. You could do something about it, like take it apart and clean but it will just come back again. Or you could knock it into 1st (with the engine stopped) and pull the bike back a few inches, but it just come back.

Or you could buy some ear plugs.

but the chain donest stop turining when i let off the throttle ? so why would the sound stop when i let off the revs

and plus cleaned all my chain and around that area at weekend .

its really hard to explain lol .

its sounds kind of like when you here old people on them eclectic scooters.

but if i let off the throttle off it stops then when i put it back on it starts again its not very loud but im pretty certain i haven’t heard it before .

just thinking i did remove the front sprocket cover and sprayed a load of lube under there also i cleaned where the chain sits on the swing arm there was allot of oil/grease/road crap maybe that was stopping the noise and because I have cleaned it all up its started making that noise ?

well mines been whining for two years, I can't figure out where its coming from. It goes eee oooo eeoooo if your rolling on and off, pain in the ass, and it gets to 5k and its almost gone.....can hear it through earplugs over the top of a pretty whhooopaas pipe. It doesn't occur on my other SV, which is why its so feckin annoying

It ain't blown up yet, so I try and ignore it.!
