Default Conversion... which way?

Hi all, I traded my SV last year for an MT09 and while I love the Yam, I am missing the Suzuki. Really like the style of the new SV650X but can't justify the money so the question is which is the cheapest/easiest way to create the cafe racer style. Do I get a faired bike and change the headlight or get a naked bike and change the bars...?

I'd start with a naked curvy.

Wasn't there a thread on here a while back where someone did just that?

Tom Yorke built an absolutely stunning café racer from a curvy sv.

Can't remember his name on here though.

You rang?

I’d say the easiest way would be to get a naked and fit Ace/Clubman bars straight on to the existing risers and you’re done. The problem is naked bikes are harder to get.

Converting a faired bike needs a bit more work to tidy up the clocks and especially all the extra wiring, but you get some cash back from selling the plastics.
