Default Why did the tickover go up after oil change?

ZX6R '98 by the way.

I did an oil change the other week and the tickover went up from about 1200 to 2000 rpm. I mentioned in to another Kwak owning organ and he had the same.

What's the score?

Maybe the old oil was thicker and put more drag on the engine ?
Just an idea.
