Screeching noise? what noise does your SV make? - SV650.org

OK.
This is a funny one.
I have been noticing that my bike is making a screeching noise from the engine when i ride.
I dont know if this has always been this way, or if im imagining it.
The screech doesnt seem to be purely related to rpm, but specifically related to throttle position, ie, noise only apparent when fuel being put in.

I first thought the alternator may screech, im sure its not the gearbox..... maybe injectors? oh wait.... as i type i realise there are no injectors

....

Basically this is just a "Has anybody else had this??" thread.

p.s. although there a small oil breather leak.... there is plenty of oil in there

Are you sure its a screach? It could be induction noise, more like a wind rush sound with the sound of fluid.

more like a squeaking i'd say....
im not sure its always been there.

i'm not overly worried about it....

heres another one, when your clutch is cold and you first let it bite, do you get a screeching style noise....??? ive always put this down to it being cold, it doesnt do it when warm.... but it makes me look a fool!!!! and was wondering if it was on its way out ???

Yep, i find putting too much power down on a cold clutch makes it screach, eg. not good i think.

mine makes that noise too (K1), and thats what id thought it was too!

Hopefully were not both wrong and its going to explode.....
