No longer Starts,

Help

so 650 Curvy 2000 model was running fine. following day failed to start. clicking but not turning over. charged battery, even replaced battery for a brand new one same thing.

removed starter motor and it spins with 12 volts. voltage checked when started so voltage at the starter as well.

When he removed the starter it ****ed Oil.

brothers bike so not there but lost on this one.

Any ideas what to check next.

for me if 12 volts at starter then electrical side is good. starter spins off the bike starter is ok.

Ok correction he's not tried checking for 12volts when he hits the button.so could still be relay / solenoid perhaps?
