I need training...
Mainly from people that know me, whats your opinion of the type of training i should get to get the best benefit.
I might add i dont want bike safe or the like yet as i dont believe that is my biggest shortfall. I need cornering tuition, i either over corner or not enough, i can only hold a line when i can see round the whole corner or its wide. I freeze on tight roads because in know i cannot hold a tight line, im also obsessed with gravel to the point where it overtakes my focus and reduces my confidence. I think the rough stuff in the centre of chipping covered roads is loose and cant determine wether it is or not loose. I ride behind people who ride over the same stuff but still let it bother me I think if i had tuiton on cornering and worked out how far my bike can be pushed it would help my road confidence. Anyway, my thoughts are track day and use their instructors to follow me round and offer tips. Proper track day tuition, Ron haslam school, California superbike school. Thoughts please... wanna do something fairly soon defo before the weather turns. Phil |

California Superbike School is one that springs to mind.
Andy Ibbetson joined the Org last year after Amanda met him at the NEC. He owns it I think. Runs training sessions and has a feature in Fast Bike I think

Re: I need training...
I wouldn't rule out road-based advice, as it sounds like the problem might be observation - how I'm reading what you're saying is that you're happiest when you think you have the corner properly read, but that you're struggling to get everything in order before you're in the corner. What you'll probably find from talking to the people who aren't letting the corner bother them is that they've already read it well before entry and are working on the next hazard, and the key to that is to start reading earlier.

You could try these people, especially the Supermoto dates if he's running any more. I know several people who have used them and had a brilliant day out.

Re: I need training...
Phil I think you would be better at on the road training. You have admitted yourself that it is tight roads that you have the problem, therefore I can't see how on the track training would help with how wide the tracks are with no oncoming traffic?!
IAM may be the best start before start spending out on track days |
