What does everyone think to adding a GSXR 1000 Shock to my SV650S, Does anyone know how it will feel after adding it???

My idea is that the bike feels a bit more like an adult. The shock gives more feedback than the standard one and the limits are higher. Also a good modification if you ride often with a passenger. I am quite happy with the change. But do not spend to much money on it. A young second handed from Ebay or something should do the job.
If you do the modification, you will have to cut a piece out of the battery box!! |

yeah i got mine waiting to be put in, i got mine from ebay and its in really good nick only paid £40 or it.
im just a little confused about installing it tho, is it the tool box section that gets cut or under the seat? does the bt that sticks out face towards the front or back of the bike? |

I just got a minter GSXR1000 K4 shock off good old ebay for £55 with postage, well happy with that price.
I do a lot of two up riding and have a non standard twin exhaust that goes under the seat so need this mod to maintain clearances. I am a lazy git so have booked it in at Steve Jordan's as a few folks on this forum have commented on his work. Will try to remember to report on how it feels after the work is done next month. |

Normally you just have to cut out the left corner so the oil reservoir can fit. Then you can replace the battery in the original position.
How I have done it???? I have cut the battery box of the undertray. Cut about 10 centimer of the undertray and then replaced the battery box in the opposite direction. The GSX-R 1000 shock fitted nicely in afther that. But I recon, it is not the easiest way. |
