Great pictures Darren. I love the way your part of the world goes from gert big jagged mountains to flat fields of barley.

Thanks Gary. It's quite flat local to me anyway. I have to put in a few miles to get to the more interesting scenery

From last week.

I stopped in Bishops Castle for fuel and was blinded by these buildings. Some really quirky details on the houses.

Next stop Shobden airfield and spotted this beauty.

I was wondering if you bought that. They get great reviews. Has the Suzuki been sold?

It's great. Not light at just under 200kg, but very low weight with the weird fuel tanks. Never been a fan of KTM styling so I've never looked into them much. I test rode one though and was so impressed with the ride that it made it easy to look past the aesthetics. So many little well though out details too. And the suspension on the R version is really good, which is a big part of why it's so good as a bike. That and the engine had a vey immediate feel like smaller dirt bikes. It feels more like a big dirt bike than a small adventure bike. Way too much power then needed for off road though really. But it does a great job of spending a few hours on road between off road sections too, which the DRZ isn't so great at.

I've still got the DRZ. OUt on it yesterday and it felt like a really fun toy after riding the KTM. I was going to think about selling it if the KTM ticked all boxes, but I've a feeling I'll end up keeping it if possible. I have the supermoto wheels for it too so will probably fit something really aggressive tread on the off road wheels and use the supermotos for road tyres. Then I can keep the KTM on dual 50/50 tyres and use the DRZ for winter mud trails. I wouldn't fancy getting the KTM out of boggy puddles in winter. It's more of a dry dirt trails bike. A good commuter and winter travel bike too.

Took the DRZ out yesterday and the relative lightness immediatley made me feel more comfortable pushing it and heading for some harder areas after being on the bigger KTM. The DRZ is staying for now.

Viffer would be the best tool for the job.
