Drop a PM to Christopher. He's done a fair bit of touring but doesn't come on here much now. Sure he'll have a few ideas.

I've got a copy of a bike magazine from a few years ago it has tons of routes round European countries. You're welcome to borrow it ( but it MUST be returned)

Remember there are tons of great roads the don't get the plaudits of the really famous ones...

We did roads through Peneda-Geręs National Park in Portugal that would have been right up your street and will never get mentioned in any bike magazine, think of the single track roads up north and you're there.

More importantly when are you going and when are you putting out the invites?

Come to think of it Lance have a search through the Bike magazine website. They had links to every route they published in the special edition. They might still be there for your delectation.

Most of my trips have been France but a few into Germany, Black Forest and Dams. If you would like any routes I have you are welcome. Just PM.
Having said that, the great thing about setting up your own route is that you can take the roads you want at the daily distances you want and with Basecamp and the Garmin now very easy to do. I still make up lists of places as a hard copy from the map but force Basecamp to create a route so that the device will guide me the way I have planned. Makes sharing the route easier too.

i use TYRE as its the best software i have used for rout planning due to gmaps being the base maps. TYRE is compatible with most spaznavs and even those pocket computers that some folk call phones.
