Budget Replacement Shock 2000 SV650SY? - SV650.org

Ay up folks

Please Help......my rear shock has decided to do an oil wee today and spit everywhere..........

I know this means i need a new shock which is fine..........BUT

i am on a budget (very tight thanks to the dog and the vet!) and was wondering if it possible to put a shock from a K3 or later model on my 200 Y model?

i only ask as im looking at second hand from Ebay and see there are a few out there from 03 onwards models and would rather buy a newer one tha another one thats 12 years old and likely to go the same way

ANy help / advice is greatly appreciated.

No, shock length is different

Better to get a Gixxer shock, plenty of threads about this

yep, and other shocks need not cost much, think my gsxr one was about £20.

Thanks everyone.....

I got hold of one off of flea bay.its a standard shock and will do for now. Was against the clock needed it done in time for the Egg run on sunday.

WIll certainly be looking at a gixxer or zx6/10 shock though but happy for now..it works again so will do for me

Had I'd seen this earlier you could of had my K9 shock taht I've jst replaced with a ZX636
