Malcolm McLaren RIP
The man defined a generation and was the force behind the soundtrack of my youth. Can't think what else to say other than I once had the pleasure of meeting him and he was absolutely charming - I literally bumped into him at the Lucien Freud exhibition at the Whitechapel Art Gallery in 1993 and we had a cup of tea and a chat. Unsurprisingly, I paid for the tea!

Re: Malcolm McLaren RIP
We certainly are losing a lot of people that really made a difference in our lifetimes.
RIP. |

Re: Malcolm McLaren RIP
I don't think we'll be missing Simon Cowell as much.
IMHO music isn't nearly as dangerous as it once was. RIP

Re: Malcolm McLaren RIP
Ah yes, the soundtrack and attitude of my youth.
"It is better to be a flamboyant failure than any kind of beign success" I think he was loved and hated in equal measure, depending on your viewpoint, but he was never dull or boring or without an opinion. I visited the shop once in the 70's. Crazy youthful and strangely not that anarchic fun. RIP and thank you for shoving little England off its axis for a moment |

Re: Malcolm McLaren RIP
One positive is there will be plenty of Pistols/Bowwowow/Mclaren/Antz/other inspired songs being played on radio today

The big corporations have taken control of the anarchists and hence they are no longer anarchists. It was only rock and roll but I liked it.

Yeah, another of our generation's visionaries and shaker-uppers gone. "Never mind the Bollix" is always in the car's CD-Multichanger. Fantastic. RIP, Mr McLaren.......... and give Sid a kick in the nuts for old times when you get through the Pearly Gates. |
