We've already planned to come up there at some point(private matter you're probably aware of), but things keep getting pushed back due to funding.

it won't be on a bike either.

Who tried to sneak this through without inviting Quality Control?

I'm free all of Sept, and if it goes into Oct I have a significant birthday, 28-ish, to celebrate.

There's a chance I may be free all of September too (something I forgot to tell you about on Thursday Marc). I'll know more next week.

if this was to happen...would be nice for us guys to finally get up there, as we missed you all in May, Pete misses his mates lots, and he wants me to visit Skye
can I offer an idea....

I've been looking at the website......I wonder if the lodge would be big enough for a get together?

There are six bedrooms, a family room and bunk room on the ground floor and a further four bedrooms upstairs comprising of three twin bedrooms and one double.

Now, we can't afford hotel, Pete doesn't do tent, and if this wasn't too expensive between the lot of us, if we were to club together, it would certainly be a cosy homely place to go once the bar was shut. Being selfish it would also mean I wouldn't get left out having the kids with me, while you lot are trying to demolish the bars offerings ..........if of course they are welcome(they fit perfectly in a cupboard, make no noise, only when poked)

orrrrrrr, perhaps the bunkhouse? maybe that would be cheaper still?

You can of course all tell me to bog orf

I do do tent but doing lodge/bunkhouse means all the time we'd spend pitching/packing up we could spend working our way through the Speysides. Capital idea!

Sheila? Sheila? Don't seem to remember anybody by that name...

Wait. Queensland native, husband couldn't go pillion because "the b@stard's too fat", had a mysterious accident involving a T-junction and a footpath?

Nope, not ringing any bells. Anyone?

Having an idle browse of the 'Whisky Exchange' site this evening, whilst supping on a delightful little glass of Ardmore (such a nice, smooth and easy drinking whisky that), I stumbled across this:

http://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/P-7624.aspx

Ok, so this is at the tip top end of the scale, but having spent much of my existence restricted by budget to single malts around the £25-£40 a bottle range, what are the differences that could one 'really' expect to find/taste/experience between say a nice, 16 ish year old bottle and a 55 year old exclusive one like this?

How much of it is clever marketing/branding?

Yours, ready to be educated,

Dumfries

PS - (If anyone spots the blatant "if anyone's got a bottle of something like this that they'd let me have a glug of" phishing in there, kindly do the decent thing and keep schtum! Thanks)
