M25 yuck - too many speed camera's for my liking. Of course avoiding it means adding on more time to the journey. If that isnt an issue then how about this sort of route?

Yep, looks good to me, I just added a bit of M25 to get some miles ticked off.

The A264 from From East Grinstead to Tunbridge Wells, then the A267 to meet your route are apparently nice roads, but is a bit of an un-neccesary loop if we go your route.

On the way back perhaps?

Is there someone bringing a bbq down? I have a disposible bbq but a proper barbie would be better. If someone brings a bbq then I can bring charcoal. I can also bring a gas lantern and tarp. If anyone else is bringing these items then I can substitute with more beer as suitcase space is limited!

So is there anything else I need? I have tent and bag, spare pare pants, where is everyone getting food? I could try to strap a grill to my bike, then we can just prop it over two stones and make some charcoal on the fire and get a BBQ going? Is Si going or can't he gett here? Can anyone take him?

The grill over some stones sounds like a great idea, one even the survival guy off the telly would be proud of (not Bear Grylls, the proper one).

I can bring a big tarp with me Andy, if you want to bring something else?
