Essex Newbie with a curvy
Hello fellow SV'ers
I have got back into biking after a couple of years without a ride, with the acquistion of a K2 curvy which I picked up on Ebay for seven hundred quid It was an unfinished "street-fighter" project with a couple of unique features! Firstly, unlike many street-fighters, it didn't start life as a dropped bike. The fella' gave me all the original bits he took off including the fairing, end-can, and a big box of other bits and pieces; all in very good "un-dropped" condition! Secondly, it rides excellently, and is in pretty good shape, but for a few rusty bolt-heads and scabby wheels! A bargain. I have a few ideas about what I intend to do to it, and will hopefully find help and inspiration on this forum; watch this space That's enough for now, once I get the hang of the forum, I will get some photos posted. Cheers. |

Thanks for the welcome people
Here's a piccie of the wee beast, I intend to make a few improvements in the near future, I will post more photos as I progress. She's currently parked-up in my man cave. note: comfy chair on the right and beer fridge on the left! No spannering in the cold and rain for me Cheers. |

Hi Yellowstorm. I like the garage.
Fingers crossed we get a decent summer, that yellow will look good parked up outside the cafe in Finchingfield

Re: Essex Newbie with a curvy
I think I could find my way to Finchingfield Is there a meet there?
Well, I've got under way and started stripping bits off First thing I want to do is tidy up the rear end, so I got a subframe from a breakers, and cut off all the dangly bits I wont be needing. It's all painted now and ready to fit. The undertray needed carving about to get rid of acres of ugly plastic around the rear light, number plate, and indicator mountings. Ebay provided A new LED number plate light and some mini LED indicators to complete the job. I'm keeping the original tail light for now. More piccies to follow when it's all screwed back together, hopefully over the Easter weekend. |

Re: Essex Newbie with a curvy
Not much gets organised on Essex it seems but Finchingfield is a favourite for a couple of mates and myself. About once a week on average and not neccessarily on a Sunday (parking considerations!). Maybe when you are up and running?
Keep the pics coming, looking forward to taxing my yellow Curvey from April! |

Good luck with the build.
Who's is the crosser in the background of the last shot?

Re: Essex Newbie with a curvy
Thanks for the comments.
I intend to be on the road in April sometime. It's going to be a low cost project, economy is the name of the game here so it won't be completed any time soon, but I intend to keep her rideable all the way through. The crosser is my sons. He currently rides a YZF-R125 on the road, and is saving up for his A2 licence. |
