Trackday Generators
Now I don't need a generator for tyre warmers, because it takes me time to get going at the moment anyway. But I can see they can be really useful if you are camping over at the track or need the odd drill or tool powering up etc.
What should I be looking at as a minimum second hand specification? Any ideas people? |

Re: Trackday Generators
Needs to be 1.5KV as a minimum for a set of tyre warmers

Re: Trackday Generators
2kv to run a kettle, far more important than tyre warmers....
To be brutally honest I haven't even taken my generator with me to a track day for the past two years. Unless you go somewhere really obscure there is always a hook up to be had, but if you're going racing that's a different matter.... I've seen more arguments in the pits over a socket than over the first corner...! |

Re: Trackday Generators
If you go to Snetterton, there's plenty of power sockets in the garages and I haven't seen anyone using their genny's

Re: Trackday Generators
Fair enough then Gentlemen, I'll strike that from my list of trackday essentials, take a mains lead extension block and focus on buying the Argos Gazebo. That always makes you look faster in the paddock. Cheers.

Re: Trackday Generators
All up norf or in Wales. I can't run power into the underdeveloped regions, I'm only going to nice posh yuppie circuits!

Croft. Ain't there a waiting list for garages at the North East meet?

Re: Trackday Generators
I'm sure I had a hook up at Anglesea, have you been there since the re-vamp?...and I seem to recall getting power at Cadwell as well. Maybe I'm just lucky, or perhaps generally getting there the evening before helps!
