Default Mallory Park

Probably should be in the Track Day section, but who's gonna look there?

Off to Mallory on Saturday, but just me and a mate riding the bikes there and back. Any suggestions on what Mallory is like to store gear etc?

I'll probable have my (removable) top box/bag with some bits and pieces in and don't want to just leave it on the deck while I'm in the sessions. Are there any facilities there to store gear?

Cheers

The pits are quite small and get filled pretty quickly.

I just left my bag etc at the back of the pit garage I was in...had about £120 notes in, a camera, a phone etc etc, and was all still there when I came back in!

Everyone had stuff against the rear pit wall, but plenty of people around so doubt anyone could easily get away with rummaging through a topbox if it was obviously not theirs (if everyone else had seen it was yours).

There are the shed/garages at the pitlane exit, where the instructors hang. Could leave it there and ask one of them to keep an eye on it.

Or there's the cafe, where you could again ask one of the staff to keep an eye on it...

Other than that, could befriend someone in another session with a car or van...

I would never leave anything just lying around! Biking attracts a range of people and some of them are thieving ****s.

When I used to Marshall you would be amazed at the amount of stuff that was reported 'missing' including entire bikes... Slip a bike in a van and it's gone without a trace, loads of spares for someone.

We even had a toolbox full of food stolen once.

There was an unattended Gixer thou left near the garages at Silverstone with the keys left in.

Considered taking it out for one session. Guy'd be none the wiser...

Just see people having stuff stolen all day everyday at work. Wouldn't leave anything of value lying around in a place where lots of people are milling around.
