Default Yamaha R125 engine numbers?

hello you clever peeps - can any of you rocket bike scientists answer a question about the markings / tagging on this above bike - girl i work with her brother has this bike- it blew up recently coz he didn't put any oil in it - bought a new engine but he says it does not have any numbers on the engine .... is this correct or do they only put the chassis number on the frame ?!?!? typos sorry !!!

any ideas much appreciated !

BBC thanks

Where did the engine come from? Is it new new, or S/N new to him?

yes all engines including new ones should have a number stamped on them. if they don't its more than likely stolen. think about it why would you want to hide an engine number.
