Got my double puncture tyre repaired. Two identical ring shank nails. £35 later and all is well again

That's a relief. Sounds better than a new tyre!

SotD today is the fact that everything on my dinner plate except for some olive oil, tomato puree, and a small quantity of shredded duck style soya, came from my garden and allotment. Squash, stuffed and baked with onion, garlic, tomatoes, and duck style soya, roast potatoes, and steamed Red Russian kale. I'm now f'lup!

Had what's probably going to be my end of year blowout ride today. My new tyres and suspension are still making me grin from ear to ear so I went up to the Cotswolds to ride down then up Fish Hill, so much fun now, then over to the A5 and the Super Sausage Cafeteria for lunch. That bit was so so... Nice round the houses route home to avoid Milton Keynes and if I don't have time for another ride before the gritters come out I'll still be happy.

I think we'll all be making the most of what time we have left for this riding session.

We have another warm spell headed our way apparently, so don't put the bikes away just yet chaps.

Just got back from our 17th wedding anniversary meal and I'm on the sofa in a food coma.

Happy anniversary Kenzie. A good food coma every now and then is no bad thing in my book.

It's really mild here today so I was very tempted to go out again, but I have things to do today so gardening and odd jobs will keep me busy instead. I have things in the diary for the next three or four weekends but hopefully I'll get out for another ride before the hibernation begins. We'll see.

Trainstopping (not extreme but slightly NSFW for language)

(if you haven't seen Trainspotting it might not seem funny)
