Rebuilding the SV fighter.
Well its been a busy day for me trying to catch up on the work I should have done last week, but here is today's progress.
First I had to remove the swing arm and put the chain and chain rubber, as I had removed it as one loop rather then split it. Here you can see the threaded link into the ZX636 shock (B1H) that I fitted. And it from the other side. After which I put on the back wheel, and fitted the exhaust header pipes and the Remus end can. Same again. Then I fitted the choke cables, which needed me to remove and refit the carbs, and I fired the bike up. Wasn't running on the front until I noticed I knocked a live off the coils, which was why the rev counter stopped moving. So I fitted the nose cone and parking light, testing the bulbs and cleaning the connections as they didn't work at first. But before that I had to mod the break fluid reservoir mount Here's the fitted and moded mount. Moved brake line splitter. And the Brake reservoir mount with its favourite mod. After that I tidied up all the wiring and sorted out a mounting for the fuse box as its been moved to the rear seat. As you can also see I put the rear plastics on and light for a test viewing as I need to get things lined up too fit the undertray tomorrow. And here is a little vid of the bike running after not being started since last year. Last edited by Grinch; 30-06-08 at 09:39 PM. |

Re: Rebuilding the SV fighter.
The only problem is that I only have enough cash spare to MOT one bike as Helga runs out this week, so which one...

Re: Rebuilding the SV fighter.
Well the undertray is all sorted, and will just need painting, so now I've been working on the number plate and indicator hanger. At the moment its just a box as I wanted a strong mount, and some where to hide wires. So the shape is there, next is the cleaning up and hole cutting.
While I was out there and had put the back together to get the undertray right I popped the rest of the plastics on to get a look at it. Now that I know I don't have the spare cash to get it MOT'd, Tax'd and Insured for the AR its making me a little depressed now. |

Well its been a crap day to day, as most of the work stopped because of the weather. And when I did get to the caliper the bolts holding it together a stuck solid, so I'm trying to free up another caliper I have that has a stuck pistons.
