Due to the high price of petrol I have decided to give up
Brakes
It's just lazy and unnecessary to use them. oh and that goes for changing down unnecessarily to increase engine breaking - that's just cheating. Forward observation & planning is much improved, & I am really enjoying having another focus to my riding rather than just getting everywhere AFAP. Plus I can still enjoy accelerating to get past a hazard instead of braking before the hazard. Once I've mastered it I will move on to actually braking to maintain momentum (slow down earlier for traffic lights so that you are still moving as they change to green). |

I don't mind people knowing I got a speeding ticket, but I don't see how it is relevant to this thread

TBH the effect the ticket had soon wore off 3 in 40,000 miles means the chances are you are not going to get caught (touch wood) and each of those 3 times I was being extra silly. But I am trying to keep my observations up, and my extra silliness down.

Good luck. Just don't forget to brake when you need to. I started pulse riding and got 180 miles from a tank (as opposed to 150). Pulse riding is accelerate a bit then clutch in and coast. Also coasting down hills. Just don't try it on corners.

I do that in the car but I've always held out there's more to life than doing it on a bike
