lets see what i can get outta my yellow beuty with regular servicing and replacing of relativly cheap and easy to replace parts (this rules out an engine rebuild)

Ahh.. but yours is a fairly standard curvy, mine is a (at least) twice crashed curvy that's been modified quite a lot, which costs lots but probably takes away value in the long run.

Perhaps they got 4,500 miles per year from service intervals- every 4k or year?

Good for you, this is exactly the attitude to have.

My bike was bought new on March 1st, since then I've topped 3000 miles on it and by next weekend it'll have another 1000 on the clock. I bought it to ride it, not sit it in the garage and polish it.

Unfortunately I work long and silly hours, so only really get the chance to ride at weekends, otherwise the miles would probably be twice what they are.

That'll be that tw at Alan at Ongar M/cs then. I wouldn't buy a bike from him, even if someone else was footing the bill.

Yeah, bought mine in January and I've now put more than 4500 miles on the clock taking it to over 8k for a 16 month old bike.

Off to Scotland next week to put another 1500 miles on it.

well after reading this thread only one question to ask yourself
Did i buy my bike as a financial investment of as an investment in life?

and realise there will always be someone waiting in the wings to take advantage whatever decision you make

I wouldn't do it again, I ride within 100 meters of his place to my dealer of choice.

The Speed four had 6,000 mile on it when I got it, that's 1,500 a year, now 1a little over 10k (in 8 weeks), and this past week it got 1365 miles in 3 days, must be worth ten bob now then.........

Cheers Mark.

Can I ask what they offerd you Ed? Was it against another bike or straight purchase? PM me. I've noticed the Parkers guide doesn't even list the Daytona 675.
