The last quote I had for everything up to & including valve check (not including adjustment) was £160.

If I do everything & get them to do the valve check, £100.

I've never paid the quoted price. They will quote for the top end, so if all your barkes need changing, plus a service etc. Find out what they are quoting for, and thier hourly rate.

What mileage is the bike?

My dad brought his bike from there, on the face of things the guys are great there but when it comes to doing you a favour they do their best to avoid it.. Couldn't even ring my dad to tell him his bike was ready to be picked up, even though my dad asked for a phone call.. Bet you've never had a call from them . I think he'd have gone else where if he hadn't gone so far in the deal. I think you should get a few more quotes!!!

Why not ring around a few other dealers and get some other quotes to compare.

Every time I need to take the car for work to be completed, tyre changed or whatever. I NEVER go to one garage, get quote and let them do the work. I use the phone and ring around. Each time I get a cheaper quote I call the previous ones and ask if they can beat it. The cheapest one wins.

I had to have the cam belt changed recently. I phoned six different garages for quotes. The most expensive was close to £400. I got it done in the end for £110. This is for a car that just about has to have the engine removed to change the belt and all the air conditioning dismantled.
