if you don't want to get it done recheck it in say 6k so you won't be too far off, if it gets any worse then change it. As has been said you are talking tiny sizes which aren't vital but need to be inspected more often if you aren't prepared to pay for a replacement yet.

The short answer is there aren't any. They are the DIY maintenance opposite of lubing your clutch cable: lots of effort and you can't really tell a difference. Frankly my engine sounds might much nicer BEFORE I adjust the clearances, at which point is starts sounding rattly,

To the O.P.
At 0.09mm I would personally change it but that's because I can do it myself and I schedule the time in for sorting these things. I wouldn't fuss that I'd have an issue for the next few thousand miles if I ignored it though.

ran plenty of bikes up to 50,000 miles with no valve checks/adjustments.....if u let ur bikes warm up good and dont rag em all day then most will find they dont need doing, also change the oil/filter is the main thing here

not worth bothering about to be honest.

Back to school mate

.01mm out is less than 1/2 a thou. Actually it is 0.000393" so in in proper money .4 of a thou.

Not worth faffing about with. As others have said, leave it to the next scheduled check.

It was pointed out to him in the School Nurses office, just after they told him to turn his head and cough

Actually guys. When I first started my apprenticeship we worked on some tooling to 1/10 of a thou. More like gnats foreskin than willys.

One medical I had was a bit more than drop and cough. The works doctor supported them on a large catering spoon for the cough bit. comforting that the spoon was cold. it must have be cringingly warm at the end of the line
