Knott End cafe opened to for their Bikers Wednesday nights last night and already we have a fatal

A female motorcyclist killed in a road smash near Preston has been named by police.
Hilda Birchall, 59, of Belle Vue Drive, Lancaster, was riding home with her husband along Lancaster Road, Pilling, near Preston, when she collided with a Citreon Saxo near the Elletson Arms pub at around 8.15pm on Wednesday.

Her husband was riding in front of her on another motorbike and the accident is thought to have happened as she tried to negotiate a bend.

She sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Sgt Shaun McKirgan of Lancaster Police said: "We would very much like to establish the events that led to the collision and would like to here from any witnesses that may have been in the area at around 8.15pm that night."

Anyone with information should call police at Lancaster on 01524 63333 quoting reference 272nq/280307.
