Been a while so here goes...

With the CBR swingarm in place used a selection of stand, jacks and clinometer to get the angles correct in order to measure up for the rear suspension linkage mount.





Then chopped away the frame cross member...



And had a mounting bracket CNC'd (as it went beyond my mandraulic machining skills) which will be welded into position in the next few weeks..





The rearesets are finished - other than getting the fasteners zinc plated and the new matrix plates anodised....

On with the tank...

After a few aborted attempts managed to get the disc for mounting the Monza filler cap welded in place..



With fitting the Monza cap you need a breather valve to allow air in as the fuel level drops, otherwise wyou get vacuum lock and the bike grinds to a halt. I had a Mocal breather knocking around so ordered a weld in nut from Mocal. Unfortunately I forgot that I'm modifying a stock steel tank, not building a custom ally tank, so when the Mocal weld in nut was delivered and turned out to be ally it was no use. However, looking at it it became apparent that all it was was a turned down ally nit of the right thread for the breather. Mocal use an odd size thread on their breathers. Some quick research found that Massey Ferguson tractors use the same thread on their wheel nuts so a packet of these was ordered on ebay and a couple of them were turned down to macth the ally weld in nut for the breather...





This badboy is the fuel cell that will be welded to the back of the tank to carry the extra fuel and replace the sub frame...



..it's made from 3mm mild steel and is bomb proof. But then it will be carrying the full weight of the rider on it so needs to be.

I'd bought an SES race top fairing mount for a BMW S1000RR on the off-chance a few months back. In a blinding stroke of luck the hole centres lined up exactly with the hole centres on the SV headstock. Some spcers were turned to mate the two together...

Just need to weld a couple of ally bosses to the frame tubes to accept these...



..to secure the rear of the fairing.

There's going to be an oil cooler mounted in the nose, which should be here in the next few days.

Rear caliper hanger bracket is being machined as is the sprocket/cush drive carrier - both CNC'd as they are beyond my manual machining skills....

Frame and tank welding should be complete for the end of the month.

Also scored this "veh narse" Matrix titanium steering damper...



..which, given the weight loss I've subject the bike to, and the geometry/weight distribution I'm looking for will probably be needed.

This is one cool build, I lie the BMW fairing, especially as it fits with minimal work

That tank-subframe thing is ace, you'll probably not want to support the rider on the front tank mounts though, they can crack.
