Getting braided hoses and HH pads fitted next week so should be a lot better. Don't fiond them too bad maybe if I lost a bit of weight they'd work better

Yep Braided Hoses and some good pads, either Carbon Lorraine or EBC HH make them better

You can have a test of my brakes at the weekend keith and see if you notice the difference

nice one ian, cheers for that. i've had a few occasions to brake pretty hard and i've been left thinking they could be better. but as i said i'm new to all this game so have nothing to judge them against....

braided hoses definatley the way to go

I got my brakes rebuilt as the seals were shagged on the calipers and they are much better now, especially with new pads. I get satisfying buzzing whirring noise just like a moto gp bike when I brake now.. its cool..

Why did you ask Keith dont you feel confident in your brakes..

dunno really mate, as i said i've had a couple of occasions where i think they could have maybe stopped me or certainly slowed me a bit quicker...maybe i'm not hard enough on them, too wary of locking either wheel (certainly dont fancy locking the front one ) ...only been riding 6 weeks so could be a case of trying to be too good too quick, riding maybe a bit above my ability. if that makes sense

You could say braided hoses about all brakes! It will improve pretty much every brake on the market to a degree.

If i had the cash i'd stick some braided hoses on mine. Hopefully i'll be able to do it in the near future. I'd probably only bother with the front as the back works good enough until it locks up and then its of no use anyway.

I find them average though they're no where near as good as my old Thundercats stoppers (identical to the R1). However they dont get effected as much by riding in bad weather.
