When I saw it said 70 ohms x 2 I thought it was a ballast resistor for LED indicators but the bike has bulbs...

Well whatever it is, mine is exactly the same on the K6. I suppose if anyone found a wiring diagram who's colours matched your bike then you could tell from that.

light blue is negative return for indicators. so i would guess that at some point somebody that they would be a smart arz and fit a diode to use LED indicators instead of buying the proper relay.

all those black with gold spot are just black and you better be very careful how you wire them up as they might just be for the rec/reg. they also feed Left indicators and instrument cluster left indicator warning lamp, ignition coil 2 and ECU.

my advice is take each wire that is going forward and find the other end. then do the same for the ones going rear.

Brilliant, thanks Bibio. I'll get back to you in a while with where we are with this.

OK, so we removed the immobiliser but the meter still shows an approximate 94mA discharge with the ign off. As far as I can see from the Haynes Manual, the only thing across the battery when the ign is off is the reg/rec output which shouldn't be responsible for such a large discharge. There is the possibility of cable insulation chafed through, but this is a consistant discharge figure so I doubt that it is that.

Anybody got any experience of weird sh#t like this happening?

What about if you do your drain test and take out and put back fuses one-by-one and see if it stops when one is removed.

That could narrow it down

If you have a decent printer I would print out a copy of a coloured wiring diagram and have it to hand, then you should be able to trace the circuit problem. We always had a circuit diagram to hand when I did my Electronic servicing certificates and fault testing many moons ago

The only wiring diagram I have is the Haynes manual. I have limited faith in it as I have already found discrepancies, but it is all I've got unless you know of a better source of knowledge?
