Question SV noob with a few questions

Hey guys, I've just bought my first SV650 Pointy (k4) from a bike breaker, it's mechanically sound other than the radiator is bust, but that isn't much of a problem that can be replaced.

Pretty sure it's been down on it's left side because there's damage to the nose fairing, left bar end and left footpeg.

Everything seems to be working just fine other than a few small kinks.

- Radiator needs to be replaced
- Nose fairing needs to be replaced
- Previous owner put some cheap Chinese levers which don't push the "Clutch in" button needed to start the engine and has rewired an override
- Grinded down cheap Chinese rear sets
- No lower fairings
- Rear fairings and tank are bronze whilst the nose fairing is gloss black
- Small dint in the tank
- Front left brake disk is warped heavily
- Sticky throttle cable

Other than that everything seems to be pretty good, the engine runs just fine.

Now i'm having problems with looking for parts, which is why i created this thread, I need to know:

What's the deal with the fairings on the pointy models?? I've scoured the internet and 50% are saying all the pointy SV fairings will fit (2003-2012); Some are even saying that SV1k lower fairings will fit the 650, i've actually tried some and the mounting brackets are way off.
So i need to know which fairings will fit, im planning on getting a new nose cone and lower fairings.

There's a problem with the speedo, it's showing crazy numbers, it reckons i hit 100mph going down my little street where i doubt i even hit 40-50.
Now my dad reckons that the previous owner might have put a later model front wheel on (Difference is the later model front wheel has 8 magnets instead of 4). Has anyone else had a similar problem with their's??

Thanks for your time! Any and all advice and input is greatly appreciated!!

I reckon your speedo is in kph. Change it to mph. SV thou fairings don't fit the 650.

I don't think it's the wheels that are different, just the speedo rotors. Get a K4 one and you should be good

Or directly from Fowlers where you can look up the part and order it so they're responsible for the correctness for the part for your bike ..

I know that Robinsons is well liked here, but I can't understand why they have part look up for the 99-02 models, and the 2016 onwards but miss out 15 years of production.

Aside from that I'd suggest checking connections first, then remove the front wheel and make sure everything's clean and fitted properly. What I do is spin the wheel by hand after it's assembled, and expect to see 6 or 7mph showing on the speedo.

speedo showing mental numbers as the inner speed sensor will be broken.

all front and rear wheels are same on all the pointy's

sv1k lower fairings dont fit sv650. dont buy fairings without the fitting kit unless you already have them on the bike.

Bibie was right, the speedo sensor is broken, gonna order a new one in the next couple days, i'll get some pictures of the fairing mounts that are on it, off the top of my head i can say there are 2 mounts on either side, one pair about half way down and another pair way at the bottom near the bottom of the engine.
