bude to widemouth bay road, national speed limit then down to a 40 then down to a 30 by a small shop on a hill, just as i crossed the brow of the hill i was zapped doing 39 in a 30 zone in my dads car

Hello Hello Hello, did u realize how fast u were traveling when u came over that hill? err 40? yes sir but its a 30 zone there, ooooo pooo, lucky for u sir this is a speed awareness campaign and were not giving out tickets today so its just a warning for you.

. the policeman took details of the car (why?) gave me this speed awareness leaflet and sent me on my way

. could have been worse i suppose.

Targets... so the police man can say "I stopped this many cars today and warned them of the evils of speeding, and how they're going to go to hell"

Nice fair play to them.

They probably took your car details to check that everything you said was genuine. Although I have had my details taken in similar circumstances and they were put on the police computer so that next time you wont just get a warning.

Probably doing a bit of market testing to see if it would be financially viable to put a scamera there.Lots of tourists who dont know the area to catch out sounds like a real good earner.

Clocked at 39 in a 30, boohoo, lucky you didn't kill any children! Hardly a terrible crime. I still see drivers all over the place on their mobile phones, don't see them getting stopped. Don't think I have ever objected to someone speeding unless they tear past me doing well over the speed limit!
