Being a set designer/scenic painter i used to pop to London a bit (lots of theatres) and i remember my first visit i was a bit lost so i stopped a guy to ask where my hotel was and without answering he put his hand in his pocket handed me a quid and walked off? and another point in the same day i was trying to get off the tube train and i tripped a guy over, i picked him up and said sorry and checked he was okay, his reply knocked me back. He said that was the first time in his years of living there that anyone had ever said sorry for bashing into him? What a place.

I'm going to london tomorrow for a wedding. Will be my first time but I have to admit it's never really appealed to me as a destination to visit.

Geo any tips on how to obtain more quids? This trip could pay for itself.

Worked there for a while, hated it & couldn't wait to get out. The Luftwaffe didn't do a good enough job on the place IMHO.

Glad to hear your missus is ok.

I know what you mean about the crowding. I was brought up since I was 8, and the feel has really changed for me, especially in the last few years. It feels much more like a rat race to me. Funnily this is not reflected by my parents, or anyone I know over about 35/40 who grew up here. Though my of this could have been my huge dislike for the industry I worked in. I am much happier not being in it any more.

Can't decide if serious or you're making a joke. I mean it's a bit strange someone of your age has never needed to go to London in thir liftime but what is stranger still is a Blouse fan saying they've been to Wembely a few times!

Edinburgh is one of my favourite places in the world, but calling it a City is a bit of a stretch

That said, I watched a piece on a program once and the north came out better when they tested people on the street.

I reckon you have been to London without knowing it.Last time I looked Wembley was in the London borough of Brent.Just off that well known London highway called the North Circular Road and quite near the Ace Cafe.

I'm serious, apart from the sites, what would I need to go there for ever?

Bet I've been to wembley more times with the real blues than you have with the second best team in the Black Country

In fairness, one of the games was to watch England
