Default Painting K3 Engine cases

Hi guys

I know it's been covered in posts before but I've not seen a definitive answer. Has anybody used PJ1 or similar silver engine paint to sort out the corrosion on their cases? Maybe tried other aerosols or had some two pack mixed? I looking for a good match / surface finish and don’t want to waste money trying different products. Guys at Allbikes in Rochdale told me that Yamaha also do one but he doesn’t know how similar it is to the K3 colour.

Thanks

Ratty

Found this old post, has anyone found a good paint match for the pointy engine casings?

I don't know about colour match but the PJ1 engine case paint worked a treat on my LC. I can recommend it. They do do a silver version but don't know how well it would match a K3.

I eventually used a Halfords caliper silver paint. It was a little too silver so sprayed it into a container and added in some gloss black until I got a good match when mixed. Then used a quality touch up brush to paint the areas where I had removed the corrosion. Don't know about longivity though because I sold the bike the weekend after. Used the same paint to respray the bottom yoke and fork lowers after media blasting and epoxy primering them. Looked mint and will last for years.
