Default Turn signal switch

After replacing the front brake lines and rebuilding the front callipers yesterday, I went out for a nice long ride today to check the brakes were working(!) All good, and the engine felt smoother than it has for a long time (not due to the brakes, probably just because I've been out more consistently).

Very happy, until I noticed that I wasn't indicating left.

So, I took the airbox off and unplugged the big connector - no continuity when indicating left, so it's definitely the switch. Switch cleaner (IPA) had limited effect, but after giving the contact a good scratch with a screwdriver, it's working consistently now. Switch mechanism re-greased and put back together and I'm good to go.

But scratching corrosion off a switch contact isn't a long-term solution, so I fully expect it to go again. They're £130 new (and surprisingly in stock) but I was looking at some second-hand on eBay - even though they're used, I could take it fully apart to refurbish if needed.

Before I waste money, does anyone know what the compatibility is like? I have a naked curvy from 2000. The 'S' models and the K1-K2 models have different part numbers, even though they visually look the same. I'm guessing different loom lengths or connectors?

Thanks.

Might be worth checking the earth. I had a similar problem and there are a few threads here about indicator problems. There are a few things to go wrong so check everything before spending anymore than you need to.

Thanks. I'll invest in some dielectric grease if it happens again.
