Nurburgring - Easter weekend
The track is open Thursday afternoon, all day Friday, Saturday evening and all day Sunday/Monday. I'll likely be heading down Thursday morning with the bike and car returning Monday evening, my plan is to camp to save a bit of money.
Anyone thinking of heading over for that weekend? - I could probably take one bike extra on the trailer from Rotterdam Thursday morning....... |

Re: Nurburgring - Easter weekend
Easter weekend is general tourist traffic, I'm still unsure as to dates for the bike only day, but I wouldn't be suprised it it's mid week as I'm sure there will be plenty of takers. I'd guess a little later in the year too, the can have snow at Easter, Brrrrrrr...

Re: Nurburgring - Easter weekend
Starting to gear up for this, new tyres going on the Gixer today, bike trailer bought last weekend, now I've just got to drag out the camping gear....
Track is also open all day Saturday now too, 4 days of lapping in the Pug and on the bike |

Re: Nurburgring - Easter weekend
Due to forecast showers and the fact that the GSX-R's insurance paperwork hasn't come through I'm just taking the car and for a reduced 2 1/2 days of lapping
But all is not lost, another 10-15 days planned at the 'Ring this year, and a nice american lady to entertain Sunday evening/all day Monday, life could be a lot worse Have a good Easter everyone! I shall, report back with pics (of the Nurburgring....) |

Easter Weekend......notorious
My friend goes every year (for the last 6 anyway) in an old GT2 and say it get more and more dangerous every year on easter weekend, stupid amounts of traffic.

Re: Nurburgring - Easter weekend
Another reason why I'm not bothered about taking the GSX-R, more of a social visit, if I get more than 12 laps in over 2 1/2 days I'll be suprised. At least with my JK transponder I'm happy joining halfway round to avoid the car park mayhem.

Re: Nurburgring - Easter weekend
The weekend went well, suffice to say 33 laps in the Pug and some truly fantastic weather, wish I'd had the bike there, but at least the insurance docs turned up today, full write up should follow in the next day or two.....
