I know it's not the same for everyone today (Sun 22nd Sep) but here, on the east coast, the weather is fantastic. Sunny and warm - the humidity is up so it feels balmy. The rain is heading north and slowly edging east so we'll catch is eventually but at present it's great

Yep, it's lovely here, but I'm stuck doing DIY

However, I have made good progress with all the jobs on my list.

My gripe, is isolation valves are meant to isolate the supply aren't they?

Well the push fit ones I used didn't completely stop the flow, so I had to fit a short length of pipe with a push fit end stop. I was anyway, but the valves weren't doing the job they were supposed to?

The other one on the toilet cistern works fine!!

Had a nice ride out and stopped @ Roy's Burger van near Beverley Race course(Beverley Westwoods) and got chatting to a bloke who was out on this.Him and his retired dad bought it as a half done project off another guy and finished it. Apparently the old owner had £1200 of work done on a full engine rebuild.Sounded like when he fired it up

Gate valves are no good at isolating anything much, the seat and plunger get caked with limescale and various crap and you have to turn them on and off a few times to fully stop flow ( if you are lucky ) - give me a decent ball valve any day...they can get a bit tight to turn after a while but I never had one that didn't isolate.

is that damp patch from the bike? (I'm a bit sensitive to leaks these days). We have a regular at Willingham with one of these, I hadn't realised they had electric start. I think Suzuki's oiling system was the most sophisticated, they didn't seem to smoke as much.
Great looking bike.

Today was a GOOD DAY. That is all.

I may expand on this later but it probably won't mean much to anyone else.

I'm guessing it didn't involve going outside.
