Default May's Moffat Magic

Ok guys how do you fancy heading out for a wee run on the 8th of May. 1st is a bank holiday weekend so we might be better doing family stuff and avoiding all the traffic.

Similar idea leave the start point at 10 am and have a ride of about 180 miles...

I was thinking about starting at the Falkirk Wheel and try to get some nice photos of the bikes near it.

the provisional route is;

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&so...84&ie=UTF8&z=9

Now half the time things can change slightly on the day but hopefully not.

I have riders at the moment as

The Guru
Suicidesam (to get legs slapped)
Blueflame (weather permitting)
Stramasher
Weegieblue
Bibio (late meeting maybe Peebles)
Carelesschucca
Siii (moffat)

had to laugh at your poll - well done!

I was at Moffat on Sunday - tha A701 is on form, not too badly pot-holed at all.

You could take the run along St Mary's Loch, though that means you only do the Beef Tub (A701) one direction.

Map...Maybe

i took a visit to moffat on sunday evening aswell all down the 701.. there was only one really bad patch about half a mile out of moffat where the whole corner was mostly pothole. that and a chicken going for a stroll in the road.

i even got my photo took by a guy next to a white van.. shat myself a bit when i thought it was a speed gun

You need to stop looking at random bits of road on maps... Take it this bit was spurred by the convo yesterday

B8028? I'd pick up the run there.. from the house

I'll take a blat up the Slamannan, Avonbridge, Westfield bit an have a look at it.. was shocking a few weeks back due to flooding and bodged pothole filling etc.

Yup. Love a bit of Moffat Mayhem...sorry magic.
That weekend ideal as I'll be watching number 46 get his 1st win in Estoril the week before.

Taking your approximate miles, very approximately as when I got back home on sunday I had clocked 268miles! Not complaining mind, just need to work on getting more pocket money fo go-juice.

Wheres the start?

The start is at the Wheelhouse Restaurant just off the A803.

I try to keep the actual run at about 180 miles max because people have to get there and back home afterward. Its also the reason I try to pick central locations for the start, makes it fairer for everyone.

I'm already thinking about June and whether we give it a bye because of GMIV.
