Re: 95% certain of buying a new SV AL7 today 😁
I really like the look of them! Don't need the lights though.

Re: 95% certain of buying a new SV AL7 today 😁
I will connect the lights, I will use anything to make my bike more visible to dozy cagers who are on the phone or texting their mate about having peas with their chips (that's about the level of most 'important messages' they just have to send there and then as they roll along in their fug box).
May just save me from a SMIDSY (Sorry Mate I Didn't See You)

Yebbut I am also of the mindset that all that stuff can give a rider a false sense of security.
Anyway, they exist on eBay for 2/3rds the price: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2916501174...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT |

Re: 95% certain of buying a new SV AL7 today 😁
Daytime running lights on other vehicles mean that drivers are now only looking for things car size or larger that are lit up like an ocean liner. I don't ride carelessly just because I have extra lights on, but I have spotted signs that drivers can see me better, where some used to pull out and stop a few feet over the stop or give way line and then jam their anchors on (as though they hadn't seen me till last minute) they stay where they are now. It's a bit of an arms race to see who can have most lights these days and I never want to have someone say "sorry mate I didn't see you".

I know what you mean, but that whole 'SMIDSY' think is flawed, it is actually 'SMIDLFY' (sorry mate I didn't look for you). I've seen it myself very recently - car approaches junction, I look at driver, driver doesn't even look my way - I hit anchors - driver continues without stopping and pulls straight out in front of me.
Let's be very careful out there! |
