Definitive K3 GSXR 600 (RWU) Forks - K3 Pointy Thread
I'm gathering information about this conversion and thought once i've got it together i'll put it all in one post so that everything you need is in one place.
So far, K3 forks, triple clamp, wheel, brakes, mudguard. Not sure about master cylinder and head bearings. Anyone shed some light on those? |

Re: Definitive K3 GSXR 600 (RWU) Forks - K3 Pointy Thread
Just been looking on ebay and theres a set of gsxr600 k3 forks that are stupidly cheap at the moment but they are rwu's and look rather like standard sv650 forks . They come with the bottom yoke and this also looks like sv. Should these forks be usd and if not are they any better than standard sv forks.

They are LOADS better than standard.
They are cartridge internals not damper rods, completely changes the handling. Also slightly sharper, but not massively. IMO having USD forks is 70% "look how shiny my forks are" and 30% performance Head bearings AFAIK you keep same ones on pointy. Master cylinder is fine. If yours is one of those softy S models then you'll need some clipons too. GSXR clipons are a bit low, I've heard tell of VTRfirestorm ones being a good substitute.

Oh yeah with those you are using the 4 pot calipers, which grip much bigger rotors than standard. Result is very good brakes.

Thats good to know because the only things i dont like about my bike are the front brakes and forks but i'm still in two minds whether to hang on for some usd's as they look the dogs b******s.
