Default Ahhhrg! ~@$% $&* Slippy stuff!

Coming accross a roundabout today, didn't see or smell anything out of the ordinary, except a bit of rubber on the road and though that it was just from boy racers.
Roundabout was clear so downshifted just before I went onto it, and oh dear the back ends all over the place, I'm fairly used to this but this time it just carried on sliding around, even with the revs and speed matched.
Just about got round it but ended up right at the edge of my lane about 2 foot away from a white van man, and was about 15' up the road before the back end caught grip again.

No idea what caused this, the road was dry, my downshift wasn't aggressive, didn't put power down etc.
Diesel? Polished tarmac?

Just dampness and dusty roads maybe? or it wasnt far off being cold enough for frost here, and your further up north.

Glad nothing serious came of it anyway.

This was only about an hour ago so no frost or dust, roads were dry too.

I'm thinking it may have been the rubber on the road as there were quite a few tyremarks

Dunno what might have caused it, sometimes it 'just happens'. Had the front end slide turning in yesterday, nothing on the road to indicate a problem, couldn't smell diesel, just slid. Luckily got grip again as the bike started to go down and it all came right.

Need to hone that ride ESP I reckon.
