No its definitely Miles. It reads too low for distances to be kph. And at motorway speeds being next to a lorry would read closer to 100kph rather than the 60mph it actually reads...

Also, riffraff's tyre valve extenders:
There's a helluva strain on valves if you consider weight & leverage &

Not nice having it leaving the wheel rim at speed !
I think I should have made it clearer. They are only to be used to inflate the tyre and then removed, not left on.Or you can just leave them on the Tyre inflater

If you can, get a GPS speedo for your phone and you can check it. In stock trim my curvy reads about 3% too high. As for efficiency, a smaller motor has lower pumping losses, but yes otherwise you would have the same factors as for a 650. I think I can get mine down to about 45mpg on track days.

Who ever is getting 130 miles out of a tank must be nailing it everywhere

Maybe they weigh more than me. An engine running rich can also eat through a surprising mount of fuel.

About 55 years ago, got 130 miles out of my 250cc 2 stroke scooter, and the tank wouldn't take a gallon.
Same bike, different tune and circumstances, it got through 2 gallons in 26 miles!
Just be glad your SVs aren't 2 strokes.

Yeah but two strokes are notorious for burning through fuel. I had a TZR 250 that would get through petrol and oil at alarming rates. Handling and lightness were it's thing. But you'd be lucky to get 100 miles if you took it easy.

Still couldn't beat that two stroke smell in the morning.

I get about 130 out of a tank, and yeah they are more fun when ridden like that.
If I really want to be economical i'd still be pedaling.

Thank you to you all for your help and advice. I've only done about 60 miles on this tank, and even those were taking it easy. That's a great idea Biker Biggles, I'll do a few more miles then strap a can on the back to be on the safe side. I'll also look into those tyre valves R1ffR4ff

Thank you again for your help, it is very much appreciated.

Safe Riding to you all

Regards Nick
