Re: Gear Issues after crash
While you're at it you may as well consider what else to do while it's in bits. You'll have the top ends off so you could go for Hayabusa pistons, which IIRC are lighter and give a little compression boost. Do the cam swap mod, it's ridiculous VFM. If you have the time, wait until you've fixed the gearbox first, to make sure you don't waste money on parts that won't end up being used.

Re: Gear Issues after crash
Just finished splitting my crankcases and removed crankshaft.
However, I can't pull my transmission drives out because the spacer on the output shaft just won't budge! Anyone have any tips? Maybe this could be linked to the issues I've been having? EDIT: output shaft also will not spin independently of the spacer Last edited by ChrisF; 21-06-19 at 12:42 PM. |

Re: Gear Issues after crash
Okay, ignore the post above. I was being too soft with the shaft. Came away nicely with some tlc from a rubber mallet.
I believe I found the issue, in case it may help someone in the future. The smaller of the two transmission shaft bearings has seized completely. Not done a price check yet, but I think I'm very lucky... |
