Hi to all.
Just joined.
Bought myself a 2003 pointy S,and loving it,Suzuki man throuh and through. Been riding 30 years, or so. I do have a couple of questions, if you will indulge me? It has Bridgestone bt021 tyres on,front and back, loads of tread, recommended pressures,The handling is terrifying, esp in the wet,no grip,in the dry, heavy to turn in and at mild lean angles feels it will crash if i lean over anymore. At least 1 inch chicken strips each side of tyre. The bike is straight, suspension standard but fine. Anyone else had any probs with these particular tyres? Secondly, why oh why did they make a bike so easy to wheelie, but you can't wheelie for fear of engine damage? This souds like im slating it,im not,the engine is amazing, looks fab unlike the curvy ones(just kidding curvy owners!) Got a new top yoke and bars on order (without a doubt the most painful riding position i have endured, probably because im much older than i like to think i am) Anyway. Hi. Re: Hi to all.
I had similar issues with the bt21. Felt like riding on ice when the road was a little damp, put Avon storms on and problem solved. Mind you this was a few years ago so there may be better tyres than the storm now.
I went the MT route after 10 years of SV. If you want to limit front tyre wear get one of those Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Re: Hi to all.
BT21? They were crap when Noah got flooded out and then didnt age well. Anything new will be 100% better.

would like some tyres that can manage wet weather well, and a bit of peg scraping knee down in the dry Not too worried about mileage, thought the Metzler M7rr might be perfect. Open to other views. Last edited by ASM1; 11-06-19 at 07:03 AM. |

Re: Hi to all.
Storms, used to use the vipers as I did track days, but they either stopped making them or they went up ridiculously in price.... plus I commute so was just always squaring them off!
