you can hire them quite cheaply from the supermarkets so you could try before you buy

My wife used one when in Labour and it was good for the early stages. So much so that when it broke I was under EXTREME pressure to solder on a new plug pronto! However for child #2 she used nothing at all apart from will power and a supportive husband but still recommends the tens machine to people who ask.

You also get different machines for different purposes. Generic ones have a different power delivery pattern to child birth ones as allegedly childbirth can be a little painful but it comes in waves where as a genuine manly injury is likely to be proper painful but all the time.

I think Lloyds pharmacy often have them on special offer.

PS Tara, you really need to get rid of that profile pic... you and Falc look a bit "needy and organic" in that one and you are both far cooler than that!

Mum used one arthritis, doesn't anymore so I think it provided distraction rather than long term relief but it wasn't expensive IIRC

Just be aware that if you don't get the settings right it can cause your muscles to twitch so you look a bit like Mr Bean dancing. (Which is funny for the rest of us to watch.)

I have one, if you'd like to borrow it for a couple of weeks to see if it helps then all you'd need to do would be to buy a new set of pads from Boots. Just make sure you get the right ones.
